Just my .02 cents worth. We have sent donor human milk to transplant patients both children and adults because of the increased immune system support. we have used it before surgery for keeping them as healthy or increase the nutritional status of the patient and also after surgery. This baby has a big head start above and beyond this because he has already been breastfed for a life time. We have also used donor milk for cancer patients for immune protection. Why not consider the use of your own milk for your baby who is getting a transplant a very positive move and continuing the use of the Aunt's milk as you have been doing all along. I don't have any references this is all anecdotal Thank you, Darlene Breed, BSN, RN, IBCLC Coordinator, Milk Bank & Breastfeeding Center, Worcester, MA (USA) Treasurer, Human Milk Bank Association of North America (HMBANA) ________________________________________________________________ YOU'RE PAYING TOO MUCH FOR THE INTERNET!
