Kathy, you are such a treasure to this list. Thank you for your relentless efforts at educating us to the "big picture" of humankind. I'm sure that it gets tedious at times. I have just finished reading Barbara Kingsolver's book The Poisonwood Bible. It was a very hard book to read, but the profound respect that she offers us for the wisdom and knowing of people (particularly the women) who don't dwell in the modern technological world is a gift. Like one of the daughters, it is so easy for us in this culture to see everyone, and our own humanness, through the eyes of our materialism and "education." Thank you, too, for sharing your pain (and nausea) with us as you continue your healing. I am working with a mother whose baby has Down Syndrome, and several of your posts have been most reassuring to her. Just yesterday, I shared one in which you were enlightening us on the flaw of offering these babies the "easy" way of doing things. I don't know if you keep your own posts, but this one is great. This is one family who will invite little Alex to be all that he can be, to the mutual blessing of all. Thank you for who you are and for allowing us to know you.
