Dr Hale's new book "Clinical Therapy in Breastfeeding Patients" states that
"Many studies show minimal to no effects of the tricyclics on infants or
their neurobehavioral development. Of the newer SSRIs, sertraline (Zoloft)
appears safest, with more than 30 mother-infants pairs studied to date and
no untoward effects noted in these studies. Other SSRIs such as paroxetine
[Paxil], vnlafaxine [Effexor], and citalopram [Celexa] have been studied
and found without untoward effects on the infant. Although somewhat
controversial, fluoxetine [Prozac] should be used with some caution." pg
59. c. 1999.

I believe these were all at normal, helpful doses and this dr needs to
avail himself of the information currently available in either of Hale's
books or communicate with Dr. Hale. Also check the archives. Sincerely,
Pat in SNJ
