I disagree.  Perfection is very much an issue.  If HIP were to be perfect,
once such a recording were made, any need to record (maybe even perform,
in today's world) the music again would cease.  That would make HIP a very
dangerous thing.  As it is, despite my suspicion of diminishing returns,
HIP has an opportunity to continue growing as a performance style,
something it would not have if it were to achieve a mythical perfection.
