Harry,

Reality checks are very important especially for those of us living in
breastfeeding blissdom. So keep talking.

Last year at a Bf conference I was privileged to learn how to do a proper
breast exam and I teach self-exams to clients as a routine.

I have also been trying to educate the mothers who call me regarding lumps
about sonogram and /or biopsy versus mammograms as a option to weaning.
Sometimes they pick up the ball and run with it but more often then not they
are very frightened (I don't blame them, I had a terrifying lump experience
when I was 20) and do not wish to suggest anything different to they're
physicians.

Sorry about your friend, she is in my thoughts.

Rita (Milkewae)
