I have a card file for each card. Top right corner has a number (4-digit),
consecutively created. But each card is filed alphabetically. Contains
key info like authors, title, jnl name, volume, issue, pages (inclusive),
date. AND a brief annotation summary of article findings or key elements.
Also up to 5 keyword cords (up to 5-digit numbers).

In fileing cabinet (large!!) entered by that consectuvie number are the
actual articles themselves.

In the computer I have the equivalent of the index card with the keywords
in number form. On a separate sheet (now 5 pages long) are my codes of
keywords, entered in bold for primary listings, and non-bold indented for
subheads. I can use the computer to call up by author, title or key words
from title that I remember (when brain is not fried), jnl, year, or key
words.

Does it sound too cumbersome? Maybe, but when I enter, I do so one to 100
cards at a time and I find it enormously helpful. So much for my system.
Maybe you can fine-tune it.

Enjoy...
