Yaffa Stark has raised a concern that continues. My recommendation may not
be as assertive as some might like, but it is probably safe from a legal
and ethical standpoint.

Currently, certification means that disciplinary action can be taken
against someone with the certification credential (if it is IBCLC).

If the person is not certified, IBLCE cannot do anything to them. (like
make them cease and desist).

However, it is always appropriate to inform your clients of YOUR
credentials and to ask them to ask after the credentials of any other "LCs"
they may have seen or called.  Simply informing mothers of the existence of
a credential can make them aware that some LCs are more likely to be
preapred to assist them than are others.
