Ok, I have read a lot of past notes re this in our archives, and I have
come to the conclusion that the entity of foremilk/hindmilk imbalance is
not really an entity, but is really, as Woolridge points out, too much low
calorie milk at one time.....which results from mothers limiting feeds on
one breast, or stopping baby before he has a chance to get higher fat content.
I think that the term foremilk/hindmilk imbalance makes it sound more
scientific than it is. I think it is another term for breastfeeding
mismanagement, perhaps? Lactose is in breastmilk, and babies have lactase,
and more of it as they grow older...so it is not a lactose intolerance
either, but simply akin to the "dumping " syndrome that adults can have,
where they have too much of a good thing at one time. Am I correct?
