Hi All,
Thanks for all of your wisdom - I have made a decision;

I have decided to NOT BF my friends baby, and will explain to her (and
hopefully her midwives) why. My reasons are this:
*The effect on her self-esteem could be devestating
*The effect on our friendship could be devestating if the babies were to BF
successfully from me
*The babies need to learn (and map) MOMs breasts, her smell, etc not MINE
*The babies need time to learn about mom for a reason - throwing a strange
breast into the equation will possibly make matters worse.
*Jill needs to be patient and needs to let nature take its course with this.
There is a reason the babies are not BF right now - this is a lesson for
Jill and the babies.

If this were a situation of me babysitting the babies while Jill goes out
for a while and they got hungry, I had no EBM for them and we agreed that it
would be OK for me to BF them to tide them over 'till she got back, that
would be different. But, this is a situation where lots of learning needs
to happen, and throwing me in there as a wetnurse/baby-BF-teacher won't help
that at all, imo.

Thanks for all of your wonderful thoughts and advice. My CLE brain and my
"best-friend" brain were both floored when she suggested this possibility to
me. I literally couldn't think straight. THank goodness for Lactnetters!

As usual, Lactnetters to the Rescue!

Hugs to all,
