For the truly awful abraded nipples that make you winch when you look at
them, I advocate rest (nipple vacation :-), normal saline soaks and pumping
in the meantime.  Usually takes 24 hours and just be sure you are there when
nursing begins again to help mom correct latch.  Sincerely, Pat in SNJ
