Dear All:

I am a long time sufferer of eczema, since I was a child, passed on, because
my father had it. It comes and goes. I am a breastfeeding Mother and on
occasion, my nipples get irritated and itchy. Thrush has been ruled out by
a Doctor. While I used steriod cremes such as Protopic and Ellidel on other
parts of my body, my doctor did not recommend it to be put on my nipples
because the baby may ingest it. However, I can use Lansinoh which is
modified lanolin known to most breastfeeding mothers. Baby can nurse with
this still on my nipples. It is soothing to the eczema as well. I avoid
soap, astrignents, or other harsh antiseptics. My own milk on my nipples is
soothing as well, however I do not use breastpads that will keep them wet
for a prolonged amount of time. Try to go without tight bras or clothing
for a while if you are home. Hope this helps!
