Hi Lactnetters,

I'd appreciate it if someone could e-mail me privately with the dates of the
recent discussion about goat's milk so I can retrieve it from the archives
(it has to be somewhere in my disorganized piles but ofcourse I can't lay my
hands on it when I need it !). I have a client who is supplementing a five
day old infant with goat's milk (baby can't attach due to short frenulum) and
I remember that it was not the supplement of choice due to, I think, high
sodium levels. Since I saw her,the mother is also now pumping her own milk
but I want to share the info about composition of goat's milk with her.

This was a classic tongue tie case - baby tried hard to latch on but couldn't
retain the nipple, nipples were very sore, baby had lost weight. Mother was
highly motivated -I gave her photocopies of the JHL special issue on
ankyloglossia to take to her ped, who confirmed the diagnosis, and
immediately referred her to an oral surgeon for clipping, hopefully tomorrow.

Thanks in advance.

PS Re Flashsessions on America On Line. Another way to do this is simply to
log on in the usual way, then go up to Mail, pull down to Activate Flash
Session Now, then click Sign Off When Done (if you want to do that) and then
OK. An important way to save money is to have the fastest possible modem - a
14400 or a 28000 will zip through the download of mail, while a 2400 crawls.
Using the AOLnet phone number speeds up the connection too. I learned all
this the hard way. My first month on Lactnet I read everything on line and
the bill was astonomical !
