Sandra, thanks for your post. It is good to hear you in this discussion
and I for one greatly appreciate your perspective.

PBDEs in this country are produced by Great Lakes Corporation in West
Lafayette, IN and Albemarle in Richmond VA.  The issue is complicated by
the fact that there are different PBDEs according to the number of
bromines attached to the molecule, different PBDEs are used in different
products, and there is conflicting information about the behavior of
each of the PBDEs.  The actual report by the Environmental Working Group
(found on their website, called Mothers' Milk) has a lot of detail on
this as well as what PBDEs are to be found in and suggestions for ways
to take action.
