I did appreciate it until the part about "upsetting the La Leche League" by
feeling that discretion is ok. LLLLeaders and members are both capable and
willing to nurse both anywhere our babies need and not be a spectacle. I know
a few people who were more "in your face" with their nursing, but none of
them were LLLLeaders. I never felt that a little discretion was a horrible
infringement on my ability to nurture my children, though I know there are those
who disagree. I guess this is the myth that still circulates: "LLL hates
formula, LLL hates pacifiers, LLL hates women who work outside the home,
LLLLeaders nurse with their upper halves totally exposed because they feel like it..."
LLLI must be one of the most bashed, misunderstood organizations that does
so much good ever to exist. If these accusations being hurled at LLL Leaders
and members weren't so painful, it would actually be boring...
