Welcome, Nicole: Your question on zoloft (sertraline) has no good
answer, because data are lacking, but Lawrence in her text has a
reference in which a mother taking 100mg/day with plasma level of 65mg/ml
secreted 5.6mg/ml in her milk, with none being detected in the baby. I
can't put my hands on my copy of Briggs, but I recall looking there
previously and not much else was listed (I recall some detailed postings
in the past 2 weeks about this and several other antidepressants, so you
may want to retrieve these from the Lactnet archives).

As for your interest in lactation education, I share that and we could
discuss further by private e-mail. In the meantime, I recommend that you
join the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine and that you contact Wellstart
International about their lactation management curriculum (they run
excellent workshops on incorporating their curriculum into medical and
nursing schools). Hope this helps. Alicia. [log in to unmask]
