Hi Becket! There is a *wondeful* book called "How to Get Your Kid to
Eat...But Not Too Much, from Birth to Adolescence" It was recommended to
me by a dietitian/nutritionist who specializes in the very young children
and is very wise in the ways of breastfeeding. The book is very common
sensical - the main gist is that you can't force a child to eat and if you
try it will have lasting repurcussions; your job as parent is to offer
appetizing foods and then you're done - it is *child's* job to see how much
or even whether to eat. I found it very informative and very reassuring -
it backed up my own instincts exactly. When I have loaned it to others,
their comment is invariably "It showed me that I was doing things just fine
and even told me why I should keep doing it this way." It is by Ellyn
Satter, published by Bull Publishing, ISBN 0-915950-83-9. My local
bookstore carries it in stock most of the time and orders it when out, so
it should be fairly easy to find.

Linda V., who owns no stock in either Ms. Satter or Bull Publishing but
still can't say enough good things about this book!!
