A thumb kept at the ready at the corner of the baby's mouth, if the baby
goes into a seizure, mom can press her thumb between his jaws to keep
them from closing on it.

Poor baby. Infantile spasms are bad for cognitive/neurological
development if they are not controlled. If they are not going to a
comprehensive epilepsy center, encourage them to do so.

Mother reports that during night nursing especially infant will clamp down on the breast when he has a seizure. He does not have teeth yet but mom is worried that once he does he may really hurt her. The clamping down now is not comfortable but it is bearable and not causing any damage.
