Well, although it seems unlikely, the truth is that WIC HAS made substantial
dents in the disparities since 1994.  Because of data such as in the
"Birth"magazine article, WIC has been given state and federal support ($) in
helping women both initiate and continue to breastfeed.  We don't need to
get into the whole "yeah but they give out formula" thing, we know that is
our biggest issue but we have made TREMENDOUS headway as outlined by
Marsha's very detailed article in JHL.
