Dear Lactnetters,

Quick question:  mom has severe nipple vasospasm and just started the
recommended calcium/magnesium supplement but is going to start Nifedipine as
suggested by Jack Newman (Lawrence and Riordan/Auerbach also site this as
effective).  Should she stop the calc/mag?  Would continuing these interfere
with Nifedipine's effect?  (It would seem so.)  If you've the time for more
than quick answer, could you explain in a bit of detail how both work?  Mom
plans to start Nifedipine tonight.  She's in alot of pain and BF is in
jeopardy so that's why she didn't give the calc/mag much time ( a couple of
days).
