Linda, very interesting comments on "tightrope walking."  Aren't women always
having to balance many things?  I once heard an interview with a woman who
was a high level judge.  She said that she had prepared for that type of job
by raising five (I think) kids.  She said she got good at doing many things
at once.  And women who work have to become good at balancing right and left
brain views of the world.  Maybe the key with clients is to see which way
they are approaching it and go with that?  Why do we have to decide whether
to be right brained or left brained in our approach or how to balance it in
advance?  It is both an art and a science and some aspects will appeal more
to some people than others.  So maybe that's what makes a good LC- the
ability to approach breastfeeding from either direction, depending on who
she's talking to.  Just a thought.....
