Hello,
I have permission to post. Received a call today with c/o numbness in both
breasts lower quadrants. Is not lactating or pregnant. Can pinch hard and has
no feeling. Had first baby two years ago. Premature, baby never latched and
pumped for one week was discouraged and stopped. Had feeling then and up
until she thinks one year ago. Happened to be talking with a nurse practicioner
that is pregnant and has had two children wondering if this was normal and
was told to contact me.
She has not had any previous breast surgeries or trauma. She cannot relate
this to anything. I told her that I would like to research this but felt that she
should contact her health care provider for follow up. The nurse practicioner is
in mental health and this was a mental health visit. I didn't think to ask her if
she was taking any medications. Could this be a side effect of antidepressants
or psych meds? Please feel free to email me privately or post. As always I look
forward to your response and appreciate your help.
I have sent in the paper work and am studying for the IBCLC exam this year.
Wish me luck. I have terrible test anxiety and have been reading everything I
can get my hands on.
