Please correct any misunderstanding I have...

A: Hemoglobin tests are imperfect.
B: (those imperfect) Studies show that 4% of 6 month olds are iron deficient.
C: Human milk is low in (natural human-made) iron, so exclusively breastfed babies are among those at risk for anemia
Therefore: (because hemoglobin tests are imperfect) ALL babies must be dosed with (artificial) iron by 4 months of age.

That that what the statement says?
So they don't care about the effect of artificial iron on the functionality of lactoferrin?
Was the Committee on Breastfeeding allowed to comment?

AAP issuesed a new recommendation regarding iron last week. Breastfeed children should have an iron supplement starting at 4 months of age. Here is a link http://www.aap.org/pressroom/Ironfinal.pdf
