There is a reason for this.  By having the bra open, the "well endowed"
woman can get her breasts settled into the cup more easily and
effectively.  Then she simply fastens the cup into place and she has a
comfortable, well supporting fit.  With the fixed cups, it is difficult
to get the breast placed well for maximum support.
