As to that initial soreness--
I say in class or to new moms that " the latch"  feels sort of like a new
pair of shoes: you know that you have them on, and they aren't so
comfortable yet, that you forget about them being on at all. But if you feel
that they pinch or hurt so much that you want to take them off, or they
cause blisters or bleeding--heaven's sake!!--get them "properly fitted", and
let an expert help you do so.
