Silver sulfadiazine, aka Silvaden, Thermazene or Flamazine.  Pretty standard cream for burns to prevent infection (apparently not effectively enough).

With no research backup whatsoever, my feeling is that using BM to clean, allowing it to dry and then applying the cream would likely be beneficial.

I am fully prepared to be told I'm wrong or that BM could replace the treatment entirely!  I doubt that there is a strong body of evidence here and the point is to do no further harm.  In which case it would be her choice.
