Becky,

This is just my opinion, but I think a woman who has been through breast
cancer treatment and is now having a baby would have even more determination
to make it work no matter what.  You lose so much of yourself as a woman
when you lose the function of a breast.  I'd encourage your 43 year old mom
of twins to go for it!  My experience with some older moms is that they have
an overabundant supply rather than the expected diminished supply.  She may
be so blessed.  If she is unable to exclusively breastfeed I bet those
babies will be primarily breastfed.  The longer she breastfeeds the lower
her risk of developing breast cancer in the healthy breast.
