Albertons and its partners (Sav-on, Osco, etc) have partnered with Gerber,
Ross, Johnson and Johnson, Proctor and Gamble to launch a SIDS prevention
campaign. Is it any wonder that somehow they left off that breastfeeding lowers
the rate of SIDS?

Below is the letter I wrote to Albertsons feel free to use any part of it.
Here are the websites if you would like to respond to this unacceptable
"oversight". www.albertsons.com please call First Candle/SIDS Alliance at
1-800-221-7437 or visit www.firstcandle.org

If there are any questions from Lactnet participants please address them
privately as I am no-mail.

I wrote Albertsons at:

I am very concern regarding your SIDS campaign. It has left out a
critical component of SIDS prevention--BREASTFEEDING. This is despite the
available research which shows that breastfeeding reduces SIDS and that
there are even pamplets put out by the California SIDS program and the
Guild of Infant Survival, Orange County that have included this
information. Could it be that because this program is sponsored by
formula companies (ROSS and GERBGER) this critical component was
intentially neglected? I am afraid so. Please correct this in the
future.
