What works to help severe looking edema with a post partum mom? This mom
had mag sulfate before delivery to stop contractions (28 week preemie)
and doesn't think she had pitocin after delivery. She said is a vaginal
birth. But her edema started several days after delivery and her ankles
are still swollen at day 7 and she said something about it not resolving
yet. I asked if it was getting worse and she said just a tiny bit better
today. Her milk supply is very low (15 cc each pumping) but she also had
depo provera in the hospital. I told her to call her OB and talk about
her edema as I thought it should be resolving by now on day 7. But I
wonder if someone can give me guidelines for when this kind of thing
should go down or get better and if any medications help? Thanks, Kathy
