Doesn't the AAP recommend formula feeding to starting with cow's milk and if
problems going to hypoallergenic formula rather than soy.  If supplementation
of breastfeeding baby is required, I like to go to the hypoallergenic
formula.  I explain to the parents that this is the easiest formula to digest
because they are pre-digested and less likely to cause allergies.  The fact
that it's the most expensive gives the parents even more motivation to
continue working on the breastfeeding.
