I know several of you have mentioned the use of storage bags for milk, but I
really can't recommend this. The bags are easily punctured, torn, and the
integrity of the contents is too precious to risk. Even when I used them to
store my own milk, I found that the occasional bag leaked, or became freezer
burned if not sealed tightly enough. In addition, they require extra
handling because the milk must be transferred to yet another container for
feeding, adding one more step in which the milk is at risk for contamination
or spills.

We have had moms bring us bags of milk and I caution them against this. I
have not really heard that the volufeeders are an issue at our facility, but
if it becomes one, we will be looking for alternatives too. I would have no
issue with using formula bottles, Your own label with babys name and milk
dates cut just be put on the bottle over the formula label.
