Even with normal blood tests, I would not fault the MD for giving the
antibiotic (sometimes the tests are normal and there's really something going
on).

Absorption of IM Rocephin is quite good; it even gets into the CSF pretty
well.  Therefore, it would probably get into the GI tract via the
hematogenous route.  Some would probably be excreted into the GI tract lumen,
but less than if the drug were given PO.  So, there is a chance it would
affect the GI tract flora.  The effect, however, would be reversible with
continued breastfeeding.
