Speaking of boiling things, another LC told a nursing mother to boil her milk
that was expressed while she had untreated thrush. I know the rules about
disposing of thrush milk, but have NEVER heard anything about boiling it.
Another (different) LC told the mom to put it in a separate container and to
boil some water and put the container in the boiling water. The mom was very
clear that she was NOT being told to boil pump parts, but that she should
boil the actual milk.

Any insight whatsoever?

Heather Kelly, IBCLC
