Here's one suggestion for the mother of the screaming baby:
I recall an article in "Leaven" (LLLI's journal for Leaders) that described an
infant massage technique that successfully treated colic. The article was
published in the last two years (sorry, I can't be more specific :(   )   If
this mom is a Leader applicant, she can ask her own Leader to look it up in
Leaven's index.

I don't know if it would help, but I'm sure it couldn't hurt! At least she
could try it while investigating other causes.
