Synthroid is simply a replacement for what her body isn't making.  Whatever 
dose she needs will only bring her thyroid up to normal limits!  The more 
important concern is how it will affect her milk supply until level gets 
stabilized.  My daughter developed thyroiditis after first baby (at about 5 
mo- PS - not uncommon in pp women) and has been on Synthroid ever since (25 
years:-) Did not affect her next 2 pregnancies or breastfeeding.  CNM just 
watched her counts closely during pg to be sure they stayed normal.
