Phyllis,

There are several things that can cause blood in the stools, fissures are
one, allergies to protein is another, and antibiotics are yet another.  This
poor baby has been exposed to all.  Removing the allergens can cause the
reaction to worsen before it improves.  The healing process is slow here and
can take weeks to improve.   I have seen it take several weeks to completely
resolve.
