I received a call today from the mother of a fussy three month old. Mom had
just gotten her period and felt she had a low supply. She gave the baby a
bottle of ABM, and baby, instead of screaming and fussing, went to sleep for
(you guessed it) *six* straight hours. Sigh. So Mom, who has very little
social support (even her husband doesn't approve of her nursing in the house
in front of guests) called to find out about weaning, but wasn't totally
convinced that she wants to give up the breastfeeding. What are some
suggested replies? (She wasn't interested in hearing about possible FH
imbalance, although I suggested ways to deal with possible causes of
fussiness and to put off the weaning decision for another week). Thanks!
