Pardee,
Another good issue for discussion. How much do we divulge of our personal
experience. I teach a Breastfeeding Class for Lamaze and I doubt if I would
tell them I nursed my daughter till she was 4 1/2, but at an LLL meeting I
might, but there might be a new mom there who would be shocked so perhaps
it's not a good idea. I know on a one-to-one level there are many times
personal experiences I share are helpful to a mom. We have to use our
instincts as to what is appropriate. I also connected to your feelings of
regret at weaning a 4 1/2 year old. I weaned a two year old who in retrospect
wasn't ready. Any problems she now has (at 19) I can attribute to that. I
think as mothers we can always find something to feel guilty about. As for
the original topic, I got about 14 months of ammenorea, probably a middle
range.
