I would appreciate your help in understanding this one: baby was doing OK
until about two months of age when he developed eczema. After mother tried
all kinds of elimination diets, baby still had eczema,;when put on Alimentum,
the eczema was gone.
This baby's mom had PPPUP; paternal uncle had severe diarrhea as an infant
which worsened until at nine months of age was finally taken off breastmilk
and diarrhea ceased.
Why would an infant be unable to tolerate human milk protein but could handle
predigested formula?
Hope some of you are available in Lactnetland; and not all in Kansas City! If
I don't hear from anyone, will post again with this in a couple of weeks...
Best,
Pearl Shifer, IBCLC
