Hi, all

Janice's assessment of this sleep book reminded me of a consult I did a few
years ago. Mom had sore nipples and baby was generally not attaching well
and inefficiently nursing, so I went to see her. I sat on the couch facing
mom and dad was sitting behind me where I couldn't see him.

I helped mom position the baby correctly, and lo and behold, no pain, and a
happily bf baby. From over my shoulder dad would say, "Is he nursing now?"
yes, doing great....
"Is he nursing now?" yep, still doing well. At the third inquiry, I got a
little curious and looked over my shoulder in time to see dad sitting with a
stop watch, meticulously timing how long baby was sucking.

I suggested he bury that stop watch in the back yard. All three (mom, dad,
and baby) looked relieved!
