Susan

My own daughter was almost 18 lbs when she was three and a half
months old and I think her length for that same time was 26". (Her
birth weight was 8.8. She did lose more than 10% of her birth
weight, but regained it pretty quickly.) The LC we saw at the time
excitedly remarked to the other moms in the breastfeeding clinic
"Look at this healthy, growing breastfed baby!"

She has always been in the 95% - off the charts category for both
height and weight. It took her a bit longer to get mobile than it
did some of her more petite cohorts, but she's now a slender and very
tall 4 1/2 year old. Our peds have always said that as long as her
height and weight were comparable (i.e. if she wasn't 95% for weight
and 50% for height), there wasn't anything to be concerned about.
