this is what current pediatrics says:

2. Mebendazole-Mebendazole is also highly effective for this infection as
well as for most of the other common nematodes. A single oral dose of 100 mg
is used for all ages. It should not be given to pregnant women, nor has it
been well studied in children under age 2.

Sanford says:
Diarrhea abdominal cramps uncommon rash including exfoliative dermatits
pruritus neutropenia (up to 5% on a high dose) increase in liver function
tests 43-1000% cure
Contraindicated in pregnancy.

I can find no lower age limit that says not to give in kids. It appears it
is only really forbidden in Pregnancy.

My suggestion for the mother to tell the doctor:
I am not comfortable weaning now. IF THE 3 MONTH OLD would have the
infection what medicine would you give the baby? GIve me that same
medicine.
