Breastfeeding and Prevention Initiatives (S. 39 Harkin D-IA) – On January 22, Sen. Tom Harkin introduced S. 39, the "Healthier Lifestyles and Prevention America (HeLP America) Act. Although the text of the bill is not yet available, it reportedly includes among its far-reaching provisions, a National Consortium on Breastfeeding Research at the NIH, to help breastfeeding researchers identify key research priorities, enable expanded and advanced research, and promote the translation of research to practice. Status: Introduced.
