All good suggestions here. Let me add some more.

You can use the pad of your finger to press / massage the area of babe's gum where the teeth are coming in.
Either say "no teeth" or just gently massage to ease babe's pain.

Describe to mom how babe must have his tongue over his lower gum in order to nurse well. When he's dong that, he won't bite - not thru his own tongue! So now, mom can monitor the "feel" of the latch. When that tongue moves, take babe off the breast. He can have any number of favorite teething things, but he won't be allowed to teethe on mom! I'm not talking pumishment - far from it. Just reward (nursing) for latching right, and loss of reward (clothing replaced) for latching wrong.

Last resort if he doesn't get the message: next time he tries to teethe on mom, quickly close your blouse, and set babe on the floor. It will be such a surprise, he will protest, but the message is delivered. Pick him up, offer breast if he asks, but again, carefully monitor his tongue position. He will learn quickly. You know this when that moment comes when he pauses, looks up at you with a little slobbery grin that says: "Wonder if I can make mom do THAT again?" That should end that nursing and earn him the frozen washcloth or other teething device.

Been there. Done that. Continue with all the cuddling and hugging he needs while teething. Pump orhand express if necessary to compensate for altered nursing routines.

Beeswax is available where canning equipment is sold, or perhaps with candle-making supplies, or at any orthodontist's office where it is useful to protect tongues and cheeks from braces. It is harmless if swallowed and just "passes".

At this age you can usually open your own mouth wide and tell the baby to do
the same. Break the latch and try again ad nauseum until the latch is good.
Make sure to tell the baby that latch "hurts mama" and point out that "you
can't nurse if mama hurts." If he's teething, offering a frozen washcloth
before nursing can be helpful. If he's playing around, watching for
that mischievous look and breaking the latch as soon as you see a little
glint in his eye can work.

As a last resort, she can put some beeswax over the sharp little teeth until
they lose their razor-like edge (this is something that was recommended to
me when my son's teeth were chipping due to ECC and I'd end up with little
cuts as a result).

I wouldn't worry about the aversion to nursing (it is far more important to
insist on a good latch), but would definitely withhold bottles/alternative
drinking options other than a regular cup until this resolves. Sometimes I
think sippy cups can lead to this kind of latch in the first place.

HTH!
