I have an opportunity to go to Kurdistan to provide breastfeeding education and support to medical clinic staff and mothers. This is a totally new experience for me and I am so excited. I need to prepare some short curriculums so any help with that is appreciated. Also any help in cultural issues that I may face is also appreciated. The new mothers there are experiencing the same issues of moms around the world-- increased C section rates, formula being seen as western/best/scientific. Also the new mom concerns of how to tell my baby is getting enough, how to get them to sleep, when to introduce solids, how to balance baby with work/school/housework/husband, how to deal with grandmother, and mom's nutritional concerns.
I also need ideas/advice on preparing for international travel, what to pack, etc. I am traveling with a Canadian foundation that has made this trip before but I will be doing the first breastfeeding clinics for the country.
