This suggestion seems to have great merit!!!  It validates and preserves
the IBCLC designation while recognizing those "in progress".

I am very interested to hear how this strikes the rest of my good LC
friends out there....I'm also married to an engineer but he never had
that option--he needed 4 years of on-the-job-experience before he was
eligible to take the professional engineer exam.
