I have a mom who is in mid to late 30's, first pregnancy that is having blood
from her nipple bilaterally. History is that she started leaking "clear
fluid" around 12 weeks, blood started around 26 wks. At one point, for about
1 month, if she pressed on her breast just behind aerola, blood would stream
from one nipple opening and mix with the stream of clear fluid from another.
This"stream" was only from one side, other side still with bleeding. Now
daily, she has bloody fluid on her bra pad. She has been leaking enough to
need bra pads since about 12-15 weeks. No palpable masses or redness. She
has consulted with a surgeon who at first wanted to do a duct biopsy then
after some reading decided to wait. No u/s have been done. Her OB and
surgeon feel comfy waiting till postpartum to see what happens.

Any suggestions as to what this might be? I have advised her it will be okay
to bfdg until proven otherwise. (She was worried about the baby consuming
the blood)

TIA!
