Sure, blame it on nursing first thing!  Similar events have occurred
when bottlefeeding.  If baby had been lying in the crib it would
have been called SIDS.
Does this mom have extremely large breasts (what I have started to
call the "double E fluffy" type of breast) that seem to flow over
baby's entire face sealing off the entire nose?  In that case MAYBE
baby might have suffocated, but unless there was something wrong
with the baby in the first place, wouldn't it have struggled?  One
of the first things we learned in nursing school was Maslow's
hierarchy of needs.  Oxygen is first and foremost.  It doesn't
matter how hungry or even thirsty one is, if you can't get oxygen,
nothing else matters.
This is tragic enough for the parents without making mom feel like
she killed her baby.  Why was there no concern about "making her
feel guilty" in this situation?!!!
