Hi all,

Yes, the inmates are running the asylum here in South Carolina. State Rep Brad
Jordan has introduced a bill that would ban nudity "in public places, on the
property of others, or to the view of a person on a street or highway. Nudity
is further defined as "the showing of the male or female genitals, pubic area
or buttocks with less than a fully opaque covering of any part of the nipple,
or the showing of the covered male genitals in a discernibly turgid state"
Yep, those are words straight from the bill! The chair of the House Judiciary
Committee Jim Harrison urged Jordan to narrow the definition of nudity since
high school kids showering in the locker room would be in violation of the law
as would many women on the beach. Rep. Jordan thinks that the cops would use
common sense about enforcing the law. I DON'T!

The whole point of the bill is supposedly to outlaw strip clubs, but the real
intent is to further regulate other people's sexuality. Any Lactnetters in SC
should write their state representative and express their opposition to at the
very least the inclusion of the clause about covering the nipple. A thought:
does this include male nipples too?

Warmly,
