If not the oversupply, but the overactive letdown is the main source of problems I've experienced that a nipple shield may reduce the milkflow to a more comfortable level and in the mean time may also reduce a bit of the exes milkproduction.
  If the overproduction is the main source clearing the system by as copmplete as possible emptying of the breasts followed by unilateral feeding in blocks of several hours has proven to work weel to eventually reduce milkproduction. Pumping for comfort seems to lead to even more production, where a one-time clearing does not.

I have been cautious in educating her not to express beyond being comfortable in effort to down regulate her supply. Overall, she is quite comfortable now between feedings.
