The job exists: senologist, which was invented by a french physician, Dr
Charles Gros around 1960; his son (one of his sons?) Dr Dominique Gros
is senologist too and wrote a very interesting book "Le sein dévoilé"
which could be translated as "the breast unveiled/reveiled". I do not
know if the book was translated into english, it is a popularized book
revealing esthetic, social, nurturing, illness (etc.) fields of the breast;

This does not mean there are a lot of senologists... I would not be able
to tell you how many years they have to study after becoming physicians.
I could ask if you were interested. (I live in France, so the
educational system may be different in Australia)

Friendly,
Françoise Coudray, IBCLC
